I just put a set from advance on my 96. Snapped right on w zero issues. A very good $40 spent, although I saw cheaper on eBay. The brand I got was strong arms #4218

We dont have an advanced auto parts in my state. We have a Autozone and they only have mighty lift. And a oreillyauto who has stablers brand. And Pepboys have Zacks.

rockauto.com has Monroe brand struts for about $10 each. Good brand too.

I'm sure those from Autozone will work fine though.

I hear you want to avoid the Strongarm brand, if you read around a little. No personal experience with those though

Yeah mine almost knocked me down too after I fixed. I didn't really check out the brands to see how people's experiences were with quality. Beats holding the hatch up w my head by far!!

Is there a junkyard near you? I paid $6 + tax for a pair of struts at the local pick-n-pull.
