95 cherokee smokes

95 cherokee smokes
Hey guys .i have a 1995 cherokee country stock 4.0 no mods.it has 128k on it.the prev owner let it sit for prob a year maybe.i bought it got it running again .i noticed that it smokes pretty heavy white smoke after it sat at an idle for couple minutes.i changed oil to 10w30.now its start smoking pretty much right after i start up now.any ideas ??valve seals?thanks alot..

Did you notice the oil looking milky? Have you checked the radiator coolant for oil? Is it overheating? If any or all of the above, expect a head gasket failure, cracked head, or cracked block.

didnt see any milky oil.or in coolant .doesnt overheat .i drove for a while with only smoking after idle.now is does start rough now.seems to smoke more even at startup/and has a goodrattle sound upon startup.i guess ill have to do a comp test.?thinking lower end might have **** the bed.thanks
