95 Cherokee relay
Hello everyone. Bought a 95 Cherokee a little over a month ago and the kid I bought it from "southern engineered" the wiring for the radio. There is a metal relay hanging under the dash. BWD R3153 is the part number and it comes up as either a headlight relay or a multi-use relay....Problem is it gets extremely hot without the motor running, or power to the vehicle. I tried buying a new one and it does the same thing. Anyone know what this relay is for exactly? And what I could do to try to make sure it doesnt catch my jeep on fire?

Is there something directly wired from the battery to there?
Only other thing that comes to mind is doing a 'parasitic draw test', to identify the circuit which might be involved...
It's a thermal delay relay for the headlights or interior lights to stay on for a period of time after the key is removed. I have the same thing and that bisnatch gets hot. Are you checking it while your door is open? Because that will keep it hot. Try shutting your doors, key off, see if it cools down.
