94 XJ over heating
 

I have a 1993 jeep Cherokee an I can't get it to stop over heating these are the things I've done to it
1- new water pump
2- new thermostat with a temp of 165
3- both temp sensors
4- new radiator
5- an a rad flush
So if any 1 has any ideas pleas let me know

Did you replace the hoses? I've read on here that a few guys replaced their hoses and the new ones didn't have the coiled up metal inside them. When they would accelerate the hose would actually collapse and not let the coolant flow. Worth a shot. Hopefully it's not a head gasket.

What temps does it reach when overheating and under what conditions -- idling, highway, trail, always.

Have you checked clutch on mechanical fan? Is aux fan working?

You mention rad flush, I assume you did a complete heavy duty flush for complete system.

Assume new 16# rad cap?

The XJ 4.0 is designed for a 195* thermostat. As you have learned, the tstat designated temperature has virtually no effect on overheating. The designated tstat temp determines when the thermostat opens and after it opens, other factors control the operating temp of the system.

make sure there is no air trapped in the coolant system.

No I did not replace them cus I heard the same thing

There is nothing the system went throughout the the cooling system

No I did not get a new rad cap
An it dos it all the time no matter what an the electric fan only comes on when I have the heater on
