Take off the door panel and see what's up. You might need to take something out that is in the way, fix something, or replace something depending on what you see there.

When you pull the handle to open the door from the inside/outside does it have any resistance or does it easily just "flop" backwards/in? If it doesn't have any resistance, the linkage probably just came undone, or the plastic clips securing it broke. It looks like you might be able to get the panel off with the door closed, it will just be a little bit of a pain to do it. If not, I would just cut a hole in the panel DIRECTLY under the armrest in order to gain access to it. That's the only spot you'll be able to get your hand through. FYI, that opening is about as wide as the armrest, starts at the bottom of the armrest and goes down 6 inches. You can always fix the panel later. You remove the panel by removing the screws from the housing for the lock and door handle, detach the linkage, unscrew the armrest, and pull the window crank off (assuming it's not automatic), then stick a screwdriver between the panel and the door metal itself to pry the plastic clips out, then lift up on the panel.

you don't need to remove the panel. Remove the handle/switch assembly and gain access to the linkage. With some pliers pull the link of the handle or if it is the lock pull/push that one.
From the outside you can stick a screwdriver in the window seal and grab the linkage with some thin pliers.
If you have to take the panel off remember that the armrest has two screws that hold the fat section and then you have to rotate it 90° to release the upper pin.

My passenger door was jammed. Remove the door panel... its pretty easy. Take the screws out from the handle area and 2 from the arm rest. Then with some moving it around everyting comes off simple. My passenger is still screwed up AFTER i have replaced the locking mechanism. lol So no clue.

Follow the rods back to the latch mechanism, when the rod for the interior door handle is pulled forward, it should push up on a latch to open the door. If it doesn't, try to push up on it manually to get the door open.
