Default 94 Cherokee AC compressor wont engange without jumping clutch wire

I recently converted my 94 Cherokee r12 ac to r134. I took it to a buddy of mine to finally get it charged and the ac compressor will not kick on when ac is selected.

Troubleshooting: Changed the relay with spares I have. The compressor does not turn on with the switch jumped. It will only kick on if you jump the clutch wire to the battery. The fan also does not come on.

He charged the ac by manually turning the compressor on by jumping the clutch wire.

Is there something else I can check? Can the evaporator temp sender be bypassed or are there other fuses somewhere?

mine would not turn on till the freon was right. hard to tell what you have with the conversion. new dryer? new orfice tube? oil level for 134?
what is pressure when its forced on? its a pressure thing usually.
im no air xpert but just rebuilt my 00. it freezes me at 40 deg.

I got it figured out. Thanks everyone. Right connector behind the ac selector assembly needed pushed on more. Must have been from messing with the radio over the years.

Updating. My previous post saying a connector wasn't on was only one problem. My 94 actually had a short in the green control wiring running behind the dash. I had to run a new wire from the ac switch and crimp connect it to just before it runs through the firewall in the bundle by your left foot. I did this last year just updating now to help others.
