I'm back still chasing problem with hi rpm miss. Tried everything new plugs wires coil dis.pickup tps cps emc ias ,fuel pump filter has new exauhst manifold If I put auto in 1 st acc. to 2800 rpm miss starts will go into limp mode no matter how much gas looses power backfires out tail pipe and intake. Must shut down and restart to drive. Also have checked for vac. leaks and done combustion cleaner. HELP

 

make sure the manifold gasket is in good shape and not pinched or anything like that. (if you put it on too tight, it may crack)

 

2nd one tightened to specks. 1st one with cracked man. second to check for carbon build up in intake.

 

Have you tried running a good fuel injector cleaner, like seafome or chemtool B-12 to clean injectors out it takes about 3 tanks for injectors cleaner to work. Water in gas will sometimes cause missing at higher rpm.

 

Did you check your cat? if the honeycomb broke it might be clogged.

 

no cat. injector cleaner last 2 tanks .

 

I replaced the distributor and seem to solve the problem thanks for the suggestions.
