Default 93 xj my jeep is stuck in 4 hi

hey everyone im new to the site so take it easy on .. anyways i have a 1993 jeep Cherokee and i noticed it wont go back to 2wd thanks

Have you put the Jeep in 4x4 any time soon? I'm assuming you have haha. You're putting the transmission in neutral to shift the transfer case out right? Also, try moving the Jeep about 2-5mph and putting the Jeep in neutral and shifting the T-Case back to 2wd. Let us know how it goes.

ive tryed that and nothing does the driveline coming from the tcase to the front always move when in motion?

Are you talking about the driveshaft?

Edit: I'm pretty sure that's what you're talking about but yes it's perfectly normal for the Front Drive Shaft to be turning even in 2wd. An XJ doesn't have manual locking hubs.

Ok I would check your t case linkage for binding, see if you got something stuck in there or bent.

Its allways going to rotate when you are moveing weather your in 4WD or not thats normal.
