93 jeep wont stay running

93 Jeep Cherokee wont stay running!
replaced fuel pump did a complete tune up! Now when driving down the road it just dies. It starts right back up but running out of ideas! Can anyone help?

If it starts fine when cold, but dies when engine warms up, the #1 suspect is the crankshaft position sensor and the #2 suspect is the ignition coil.

Failing with a hot engine means you are experiencing a "THERMAL FAILURE" of a component.

The crank sensor is the most COMMON sensor failure on the Jeep 4.0

Below is a link to more on the crank sensor.

I had a similar problem with my 93 and 94...I would be driving and all of a sudden it would just turn off, but start right back up. Turned out to be the crank sensor on both of them, Hope this helps.

I will try this! Thank you so much the thing is driving me crazy!! Will the engine light kick on too or no? I have no lights coming on as well.

When my crank sensor went out there was no check engine light.

When a crank sensor fails, it only sets a check engine about a third of the time, maybe less than that.

This sounds exactly like what I'm going through.. I ordered a new CPS, hoping this will fix it.. Should be here Monday.
