93 CHEROKEE getting 15.5v to CPS senors!! help*****
ok so i bought a 93 xj for 500$ and it is not getting any spark replaced cap wires, CPS, ignition coil. not getting pulsing to the ignition coil. i went to testing wires on the CPS,TPS,cam sensor and MAP thier 5v suply is reading 6.8v-8v and on the cam and the CPS are getting 15.5V i tested several wires for continuity from the ECU to the senor they check out ok.
please someone give me some insight on this issue i test the cps and im getting infinite resistance or (1) on my multi meter.

I have multiple times and used a brand new meter reads the battery fine. When I first turn ignition on the voltage goes up to 18v then goes down and stays at 15.5

no spark no spark NO SPARK!!!
ok so i bought a 93 cherokee 4.0 in a no spark condition its been pretty hacked up the NSS has been bypassed and you can start it with no key so far i have replaced
wires cap CPS(tests good), ignition coil.
i tested the oragew wire on the cps cam sensor tps and map and they are getting 15.5-18v which is rediculous considering the alternator is not running
can this be a shorted wire or is this a definite voltage regulator problem and should replace the ECU?
battery voltage good and looks like it has a new alternator fuel pumps good
any advice is greatly appreciated

All I have to say about your problem is you really need to check your multimeter.

It's a brand new meter could the being able to crank it with no key have to do with not sending power to coil?

And this is with the key on, engine off?
No way youre getting 15v on any of the sensor wires UNLESS you possibly have a dual battery setup that isnt wired up correctly? What is the battery voltage?

Ok so pulled some codes
Got 11,12,52,53,54,55 then I put another ecu in and I was getting 12,54,55 and I checked voltage and was getting the correct 5v supply on sensors and 8 volts on the other side... Looked at my camshaft sensor and it looks different that the other one I got from the junk yard
The ecu I put in was from a 1992 based on what I heard that won't work has to be a 1993 but I think this shows that the voltage regulator was bad on the original ecu
