'92 Lift?
My parents just gave me a 1992 Jeep Cherokee as a graduation gift. I was wondering what is the proper way to lift it? I want to do 3.5 inches but I don't really know is that even worth the money or should I go bigger? any help is appreciated I am a newbie with jeeps.

depends on what you want to do with ur XJ... crawling, occasional off-roading, etc. Is it your daily driver? What kind of budget are you looking at?

Yeah I plan on doing some light off-roading in some small trails we have no rock crawling or anything. I am looking at this lift kit

let me know what you think. I will have to buy some new tires once I lift it because I only have the stock tires.

here is what mine looks like with a rancho 3" kit and 31's, the street pic is the day i bought it and the dirt pic is about a week later
I was really displeased with this kit, it was very harsh. Following people with better quality suspensions was terrible. Their jeep would ride smooth as silk on the washboards and I would feel like I was tearing this thing apart. In my opinion just throwing on the cheapest lift you can find will lead to regret.
sounds like you are young, I was too once. If I could go back in time I would tell myself to stop wasting money on the car I had and focus on school so I could afford REALLY good stuff when I was done instead of reworking all the stuff I bought because it was cheap.
