so im pretty sure i got a really good deal. At first i was like awwwww F@*#!!!! so i got it runnin with no problems. they said there was a tick in the engine i heard it faintly in the motor.....BUT THEN i went and took the shifter out of the tranny and i could harcore hear it! its something in the transmission. I think it has something to do with the prolem of getting stuck in first. There is a metal slider thing when i take the shifter out, and i have ot slide it into first when it gets stuck. which is not often. Sooooo 300 bucks for a running jeep that gets stuck in first...only sometimes and its easy to get it out. What a steal considering i had the parts to fix it so it was free to fix. Sooo there has got to be a way to get it to not get stuck.......its just a dam teeeny piece on the tip top of the tranny that i can see? not inside!!!

Question

i cant get a pic. its toguh to get a proper pic of it. It is litterally an upside down L piece that shifts forward and backwards. Its what you put the shifter in.

aren't the t-cases 21-spline for Renix, 23-spline HO? That's true for AW4, not sure about the manual trannies.

Question

well the metal slider does not have any fluid close to it. Is the gear oil where the shifter go suppose to be full? how much goes in there? im wondering if it just needs to be full and thats why its getting stuck, because its got no fluid by it. if it needs to be full then thats why its getting stuck and i wouldnt have to swap trannys. But the splines that interesting.

Yes and no.

My 87 is 21 spline, the 89 ax15 that I'm putting in is 23 spline.

Still Renix.
