91' 4.0 coolant temp sender for gauge
Need to know were I can get a new sending unit for my temp gauge. Got a 91' xj 4.0 , it is located on the drivers side of the motor. In the back of motor on the head. Part numbers or anything will help. Thanks

Well I tryed 2 by my house and there didn't find anything for me... then again them parts store guys arnt always the brightest.

looks like " any auto parts store " wont cut it... thank you to those of you that gave me information i can use...

That's because most parts stares get the two sending units confused. They all want to sell you the larger one that goes into the t-stat housing which sends the engine temp signal to the ECU. The small on on the back of the head sends the signal to the temp gauge, but unless you guide the parts store in the right direction to where to look. They will waste their time trying to find the part on their computer.
What you need to do is call your local dealership and ask them for the OEM part number so the parts store can cross reference it in their computer. 9 times out of 10 they do not stock the sender and they have to oder it. But at least you know you have the right one.
