Default 89 XJ Turn signal Ground location

im trying to narrow down my turn signal issue where are the front signals grounded to?

The bulb grounds to the socket,the wire grounds back in the harness,I dont remember how far though.Normally you can clean the socket real good and it should work.

its weird my rear signals work fine but i got nothing up front

Try cleaning the sockets really good,also make sure the plastic plunger is not broken in the socket.

alright will try tomorrow thanks will let you know, one guy told me it could be a bad turn signal switch so i am trying all the easy stuff first

Have the same problem on my 89'

Been putting off fixing it cause still thinking about putting the XJ Woody grill in it..

If the rear is a blinkin' then it is not the switch. Did you take a test light and verify that you have power or ground at the front sockets? Cleaning the sockets does work in most cases and sometimes you have to just tie in a short pigtail ground within 12" of the socket to improve performance

Hey guys got my turn signals working had to replace the passenger side socket and clean the drivers side, its all good now thanks for the help
