88 xj wiring issue
hello everyone im new to the forums but not new to jeeps.. usualy ive owned yj's and cj's but i went and got me a xj this time.. the tool that owned it before me messed up the wiring behind the fuse box..
first off.....
its a 88 cherokee 4.0 inline 6 5 speed standard
maybe some one can help me... ive got everything about figured out except the tail light, back up lights and parking lights.
what i need to know is what colors are these wires so i can untangle the mess...
what fuse do they run to.. there is nothing labeled for either of these... i pulled the fuse panel off the firewall to see the actual wiring and i noticed he cut wires and ran them other ways. he had broken the tab off of a fuse in one section and in others the clip the fuse goes in is broken..
eventually im going to to replace the whole fuse box but itll be the first one ive done.
any ideas and help identifying wires?
any idea how painful itll be to replace the fuse panel?
thanks

Can you post any photos of exactly what you are dealing with. It may give us a better idea of how to help you. If it just the fuse box itself, it should be fairly straight forward.

If it is a simple case of replacing the fuse box and sections of the wiring harness I can help out a little. I have a 87 parts rig that is about to go to the crusher. If you pay the shipping I will give you the parts you need for the wiring. Some things have have been cut under the hood, but it is minimal. The rest of the vehicle wiring is intact.

I'm good with that, I will actually be coming through Clarksville on my home from IL on Thurs evening. As far as the weekend plans go, 89cherokeelimited will be over on Sun as well so we can replace his rear axle.
