88 gauge cluster

just bought a project build , fuel gauge reads backwards, wondering if someone has switched sending unit or cluster. Does a 88 have a light for reserve on the fuel gauge, thanks alot cluster has tach and speedo with gauges not lights

Is it the cluster with the GIANT fuel gauge where the tach's supposed to be? If you have it, the answer is no. I have the same exact cluster and it doesn't have a light.... If you have the sporty looking gauges then you'll have it because i've seen the light turn on a few times in my 92 with the sporty cluster lol

It's more possible that the sender got swapped instead of the gage, I'd think. Does the gage face match the style of the others (they worked the same way otherwise, the sensor and gage followed GM operation.)

The "highline" cluster - all six gages - does have a small amber LED for "reserve fuel" - how long it lasts depends on your driving style (although that's just a sign for me that I got stupid and to pull in at the next station. I try to not get below a quarter-tank, however.)
