88 Cherokee problem starting g when warmed up.
I have a 88 Cherokee it starts up and idles fine when cold. But when I turn it off after driving it and then try and restart it will die. If I give it a little fuel it will start but idle a little rough. Once I start driving it jeep runs fine. I noticed when we had freezing temps that the problem went away. I assume it's a sensor but wanted to see if anyone has had this problem and fixed it.
Note I have done ground refreshing, c101 delete and have new plugs& wires. It runs good 16.5 mpg, and is my daily driver 245000 mikes and change.
This is my first post but I have found this forum a great source of info, especially Cruiser and his info on renix issues. Thanks!

If not soaking effects it, then I would lean towards injectors being the issue. Have you run any cleaner thru the system recently? Have you ever replaced the fuel injectors?
Also, what is the fuel pressure at the rail. A fuel pressure gauge can be rented for free. I noticed that you have done a bit of a "tune-up". Don't forget to change the rotor and cap on the distributor as well as the air filter.
Cleaning the throttle body is always good maintenance! It might be your problem, but it is required periodic maintenance that is tool-less except the can of cleaner.

I have not run cleaner, and the PO changed the injectors about 6 months ago. I do not know if they are the right ones.
I will check fuel pressure and clean up the throttle body today.
Also I did replace cap and rotor as well as air filter.
Thanks! Hopefully these items will fix problem.

Try this. Cycle the key to On for a few seconds, then Off for a few seconds, then to Start and see what happens.

Turn ignition on and off twice worked it started up no problem.
Rail pressure is 32psi
The number on the side of injector is 0280150901
Not sure about the 1st number 0 hard to see it.

I just noticed the map tube was melted next to throttle body. Fixed that and cleaned throttle body, starts up without dying first.

Since you have an issue starting with a hot soak, but no issue starting cold, then please let us know whether the engine is hot or cold when you give us a yes or no on start condition. You can even let us know what temperature that the gauge is reading inside of the vehicle.

6x OEM Fuel Injectors for 88-91 Buick-Pontiac-Oldsmobile 3.8L/0280150901 (pack of 6)
That was found on Amazon for that part number.
Standard Motor Products/BWDvmakes new fuel injectors for Cherokee's. I tend to like their products. I don't know what vehicle that you have. 2 door? 4 cylinders? 2WD? Limited?
This part may help you in case you need to find it later.

Pioneer 4x4 4 door auto.
I was only checking it when hot. The cycle off twice worked. And when I fixed the map tube I didn't have to cycle anymore. I sprayed with T. Cleaner, and when my gasket arrives I will take off the TB and clean it.
Seems to be fixed, at least for today. Also when I get the money I will get a different set of injectors.
I appreciate the help. Thanks!
