87 XJ crank but wont turn over
Recently just bought an 87 XJ and have slowly been putting in new parts that seem to have an issue. The newest issue is that it will crank but wont turn over until it sits for a while and then will start right up again. Thanks for the help

If it cranks, it turns over. Two terms for the same thing - the starter motor makes the engine go roundy roundy.
Have you checked your fuel pressure? When it's not starting, have you checked for spark?

First, take the connector on the engine-side of the firewall, just above the brake booster, apart and clean the terminals REALLY well, then re-connect. Second, go through all your grounded points, inspect, clean and re-fasten- especially at the base of the oil dipstick.
Then, try checking your crank position sensor with an analog meter while cranking. These are prone to thermal failures with age.
A little more history on what you've done, and haven't done, to troubleshoot would help.
