Default 87 Vacuum lines

Hi all, I am bringing a 1987 XJ back to life. Over the last year I rebuilt the np242, replaced 99% of the brake systems, front axle to CV, U-Joints etc. Just started it up and note that a lot of the formed hoses are shot and although DORMAN makes a front and back for the 88, nothing for the 87 4.0. I am in California, it has be non-op for about 8 years, I plan to smog it an use it both on and light off road. Live in the Sierra Foothills close to Yosemite so we get some interesting weather,

Is there significant differences in the years?
Whats the best way to deal with the issue?

I appreciate the help,
Don

88 will fit the 87.

The vacuum harness that attaches to the front of the valve cover and includes the grommet/fitting, and is called the front harness, is Napa part number BK 715-1367 or is a Dorman 46003.

The vacuum harness that is closest to the air cleaner, EGR etc, and is called the rear harness, is Napa part number BK 715-1366 or is a Dorman 46004.

The tube from the rear of the valve cover to the intake manifold is part number BK 715-1365 or Dorman 46005 and comes with the valve cover grommet.

The Throttle Body to MAP hose is no longer available. Click HERE to access a fix for that.

Your 87 is a prime candidate for tips 1 through 5.

Yes, but just quickly reviewed it, planned to spend more time there after my parts arrive. I will however review the numbers that you’ve talked about again thank you
