87 Cherokee wagoneer with engine knock
 

Okay, I have a 87 cherokee inline 6 with an engine knock ( a bad one). I was going to swap the motor of a 96 cherokee 4.0 ho I acquired. When I went to do research on what all had to be swapped over as far as computer stuff I got confused. Some people say that you can swap the motor and others say you can't. I'm confused, can it be swapped? If so other than the motor what needs to be done? I noticed the fuel rails were different as well. The fuel regulator on the 96 is in the tank and on the 87 on the motor, what can I do about that?

the flywheel doesnt seem like it matches up either

Usually with motor swaps i think people swap their intake manifolds with the old one to keep the same fuel rail and computer w/ harness. But with the different flexplate that i am not sure of.
