mine pegged at 80lbs and it was the connection at the sensor it self had been seperated,i just put the wire on the sensor for now, need to use a connector. i have found when it is at 80,it is a broken connection,if it was at 0 i would say the sensor.

possibility the relief in the oil pump could be gummed up or "stuck" but i dought it. i would ground the connector...if the guage shoots to 80psi and holds replace the sender......

Mine would sometimes stick about 80 but would also jump around new sensor fixed it. But if you bump the sensor when removing the oil filter it still acts up jiggle the wires good to go.

i have the same problem but mine is periodic. it read at 80 for a while and then started to read low but would still climb when i accelerated. now its pegged at 80 again. ill try to jiggle it before i head home and see if that helps.
