Default 8 in. lift questions

So, I was planning on getting the 8in. lond arm lift kit from rustys offroad until I realized that its only made for 87-89 jeeps. I drive a 96 standard, does anybody know of an 8 in. long arm kit that I can use for my jeep.

yeah i would think twice about going that high i mean you can fit a pretty good size tire with around 5 inches or so even a 6.5 inch could fit a 37 with some work. i find it hard to see a reason for 8 plus inches when some trimming and fender work will let you get a big tire with a little less lift. but if you are set on it rustys does have one for the newer xjs just call and ask them

piece the lift togethor by hand and build custom long-arms.... its waaaayyyy cheaper

your looking at around $1900 for the kit..
my comanche has 8.5" and i've got less than 600 into the lift setup..

find yourself some leafs on ebay, maybe some leafs and shackles....
and for the front coils and maybe spacers...

then order a set or currie johny joints from rusty's with the 2.5" CNC sleeves and a stock OEM control arms bushing... then a few feet of 2x2" square steel stock (1/4" wall) and there's your long arms.....

SYE kit is an absolute must also so tack on another $200 or so

just like the other guys said.... do u really need to go 8"
i only did it cuz mine is on a comanche and i got away with a number of things with a 4wd swap.....

your looking at a lot of money on top of the lift for extra part you will need if i were you i would look at what size tire you want to run and build the truck around the tire size that will be best bet if you need help let us know what size tire you want to run and we can help you out with the setup

Any year XJ can use any lift for a XJ, which the website states...

You might be getting confused with this statement:

For '87-'89 XJ Cherokees with the manual transmissions, most used a Peugot transmission. You will simply need to drill holes to match the Peugot using the mount as a template. When ordering, please indicate which tranmission you have in the 'Notes' section.
If you read it completely, you will understand...

alright thanks alot guys. your probably right. As of now it is my daily driver so 8 inches is probably unreasonable. Ive got a friend who is giving me some 35'' bfg all terrains so thats what I plannin the lift around. Ive already got the fenders trimmed so I guess I could probably just find a 5-6.5 in. lift. Any and al input is really appreciated.

5.5 to 6 is needed for 35s with a some trimming and bump stopping. i run 6 inches with 32s and the amount of articulation i get is incredible.
