8.25 27 or 29 spline?
 

Is there a way to tell if a 8.25 is 27 or 29 spline without pulling the shafts?

You can count the splines or,if you have a 97 and up it is 29 spline,below 97 is 27.

I was looking at one a guy has but he's unsure of what year it is.
Can you count the splines without removing the shafts?

it maybe easier to write down the numbers on the axle and check them,It has been a bit since I had one apart so not sure about able to count splines in place,but the axles are very easy to remove and replace,they are c-cliped.
