4x2 to 4x4 swap drama.

So ya this day was a waste. I have frozen bolts on all points the "arms" lower anyway, are rusted into the internal metal sleeves in the bushings. Trust me I tried some moderate heat and the sledge of all sledges, wouldn't budge. The track bar was the worst of all the 15mm bolt head sheared right off and I had to use a cutting disc to cut both sides of the bolt. The only bolts left are the upper arms I'm hoping these are easier- I noticed that there is a metal wrap from the arm that holds the nut in place, does it hold for removal? Or should I snap the clip off and go right to a jam wrench. Anyone else have a cherokee in the rust belt? The jeep itself is pretty rust free except for the fasteners.:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: :wallbash::wallbash:

Did you soak everything down with penatrating oil several days before this little job? Any time you work on the suspension of these things, you have to do that. I try to soak for at least a week, I know it sounds crazy, but it is worth it!!

PB Blaster FTW!!

PB Blaster is your friend!!! ;)

BTW- Pave the way, my XJ gets "converted" later in the spring...

If your in the rust belt... and it sounds like you are i would make sure the floor is solid. Fixing it and reundercoating would be easy with the trans/transfer out if it during the conversion...

Camera?...take a pic of every step for a writeup here.

I use this stuff from work called "free all" its industrial strength rust buster. My problem isn't getting these nuts off, its the bolt shafts rusted to the bushing sleeve.
