4wd Indicator Switch Fix
So if your 4wd light doesn't illuminate and the bulb itself is fine (tested via paper clip etc.) and you know 4wd is indeed engaging, the switch on the tcase is bad. Advance sold me the wrong replacement. Napa wanted $50. No thanks.
I removed the switch and hit it heavy with Deoxit. I got the insides by pressing the ball down. Works like new now.
Just putting this out there to maybe help somebody else who is tired of not seeing the damn indicator light up!

Ya I need to stop being lazy and do this already. The 4x4 full time light doesn't work for me, but the part time does. I know it's an easy fix, but have had many more fish to fry thus far. It's one of the next things on the list. That and fixing the leak at the top of the driver side door...

D30 with 231 in 93. Does that have the vac disconnect on the front axle? (Command track) I thoght it might, but the repair you describe says different. 242 shifter would be 2WD- 4 Part time- 4 full time-Neutral- 4 Low

So, they went to an electrical switch on the transfer case instead of that Rube Goldberg vacuum switch and 14,000 miles of vacuum tubing and weak shift forks, sticky sliders etc.

Thanks Pete, I do get confused sometimes, (and which part is not like a "Rube Goldberg" contraption? ) 91 it is!
