4hi slipping out of gear
Hi
I am new to this forum and i was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 96 jeep cherokee 4.0L manuel. I have been having problems with my 4hi but my 4lo is fine. when i engage it into 4hi it seems to work ok but soon after it seems to be slipping out of gear from the transfer case making a horrible grinding sound. This mainly happens on very slick surfaces as well. I have checked the linkage from the transfer case to the shift handle and it looks ok. Not sure whats happening and anything helps. Thank you
