4" Lift shackles????
OK. Im determined to do a four inch lift and Im determined to be cheap about it. With that said I've been thinking about making some 4" lift shackles to get rid of the blocks I have. My concern being will this put too much angle on my diff? I personally wouldnt think so but I've been wrong before. Just lookin for some opinions on this and if anyone has done it how has it worked out? Thanks in advance

that would really show what kind of jeep class you have (wants to look cool with the least amount of work)
really just do a bastard pack swap like the other guy said..... drop your axle, split your leaf pack while its still bolted in (leaving only the main leaf installed) and then swap in leaf springs from any light duty pick-up truck or any other SUV, (cherokee, explorer etc) and then re-arch them..... put a few clips around the leaf springs and you'll be all set... (note you cannot use the stock u-bolts for this, u must buy longer u-bolts)
having a jeep and lifting it is not and never will be an extremely cheap process... these things cost $$.... i'm sure you've seen it, Just Empty Every Pocket...
and have you also thought about how your going to lengthen your brake-lines and either drop your t-case or do an SYE kit... or about how you will need to either buy an adjustable track bar or get a relocation bracket for it.... and also longer lower control arms??
my point is..... don't be a complete bum, spend a little cash and at least do it the semi-correct way.. and if you can't afford to then there really is no buisiness in trying to go that tall

thanks for the advice. and by the way i had taken all of that into consideration. also the amount of work doesnt bother me im just poor so no need to be rude about it. It was just an idea which by the way didnt last very long i have done 2" shackles and 2" blocks for now. Thanks to those of you who didnt feel the neeed to assume you know me or what kind of person i am. I appreciate honest opinions but not assumtions.. anyway thanks for the help.

I was stopped by Arizona HP and was told it was a DOT requirement for mudflaps if the body of the vehicle was over a certain height off the road surface. Sounds like a beemer driving lawmaker took a rock at the wrong time.

I'm not sure what the law is, but the narrow rigs with full width axles sticking out a mile all have them.
