4.56s or 4.88s ?
I was wondering what everyones thoughts are. I am running 33" tires with stock gears. I am wanting to change gears but can't make up my mind. I drive it alot on the street (kind of a daily driver somtimes) and I wheel it often also. What are your thoughts and how does yours perform?

i got the same setup and im going with 4.56's
|
I'd have to say 4.56's, I would imagine that 4.88's are just a bit to steep for any highway driving.

4.56s unless lit is strictly a trail rig.

4.88's especially if its an auto
not too steep at all |

i have run 5.38's with 35's (lower than 4.88 and 33's) and love it
highway cruising at 65 i get low 20's mpg. |
Well im getting 33's in the spring (31's now on 3.55s) and I've pretty much decided on 4.10s actually, might be a little high, but probably about the same as what I have now on my stock gears, and that isn't too bad. Most people I have seen though go with 4.56's though.

4.88s.
i have 4.56 i wish i had that little extra pep with my tired motor. |
if your not road driving to far throw the 4.88s on. what would make you happier? To wheel or not to wheel that is the question!:stuart:

4.88's would be a sweet setup. Definitely a bit steeper than 4.56's, but probably well worth the power gains.
My concern would be with the size of the pinion gear though, it's mighty small in a D30 with 4.88s. |

I believe 4.56 should put you back to about stock gearing with 33's.

The only way I'd say go 4.88's is IF there is a chance of 35's in your near future. Other wise get the 4.56's or you'll hate your self later.
