4.0L running Problems
HELP please, my 95 4.0L auto 4x4 just got a new tranny. Still has problems with performance. At idle, engine runs fine. Acceleration is fine. Engine revs to limit when accelerated and slows when released as it is supposed to. But under load, while driving, at around 2000 rpms, the engine acts as though it is being flooded/starved for fuel? It surges, hiccups and misses. It also does not accelerate when needed. It runs normally when kept at or below 2000 rpms. I can get it up to 65-70 without passing 2000rpms but it takes a mile or so to do this at that slow an acceleration. We have changed ALL Sensors ... no codes displayed. Anyone have any ideas? Pressure, temp, compression are all normal.

Cracked spark plugs sometimes only are evident on heavy load. worth a check anyhow. And also fuel pressure can be ok even when your fuel VOLUME isnt, which could be a problem with heavy loads. also its a good idea to check the fuel pressure with load and not at idle. do that by getting a fuel pressure gauge and taping it to your windshield and see what it reads while the issue is happening. Hope that helps a bit.
