4.0 motor swap

Ok, question 2, do I need to slide trans back to pull the motor. Note: I’m pulling this outside so the less I have to do the better. No lift, rigging off an oak tree😂 I know I have support trans front.

Sure don't. Radiator removed. air cleaner assembly removed. Battery removed.

Put power steering pump where air cleaner was and AC compressor where battery was.

Thanx cruiser😁

The hardest part is getting the top inverse torx bolts that hold the trans to the engine. Those two bolts took forever both times I pulled a 4.0 motor without the trans. You will need several extensions and a wobble head to get them. Google it to prepare yourself. I found it helped to drop the trans mount and tilt the trans down to get some space and angle to get those bolts out. Not fun at all. One gotcha I had on reassembly was the power steering reservoir. Air got into the system when I had the reservoir set aside. Ran great for a few minutes and then sounded like wailing monkees. Pulled the cap and re-bled the system to fix it.

I have a 4.5” lift on it so the trans crossmember is spaced 2” hopefully it’ll give me enough room but thanks for the tip. I’m mentally prepared for those😂😂😂
