4.0 leter straight 6

i found a straight 6 coming out of a 91' and i'm planning on putting it into a 92'. It has 158k on it and here is what the email i got from the guy selling it says
" it has 154k miles on it according to speedometer. it was running when it hit a truck.

Me, if I was putting it in a car, and wanted it to last for another 200k then I would change the timing chain and gears, pull the oil pan and change the seals, make sure the oil pan is clean, maybe pull the head and reset the valves. If I was just going to romp the piss out of it and wheel the heck out of then I would just throw the engine in and never look back.

This jeep belong to the Forest Service, they do regular maintenance on it. the engine has been serviced pretty regular. I might just put it in and call it good.

It would depend on how much of a mechanic you are."

I'm looking to see how much it would cost to do some work to the engine to get it to run strong.

How much? That would dictate to me what i would do with it. If it is an old forest service vehicle then i would say it would maybe only need a once over for obvious problems and just drop it in and go.

I would take the drive. I went through mine and it wasnt much at all. Makes it funner to drive if you ask me.
