I have a 96 CHerokee Country, I think, title doesn't say, plane jane jeep, dont even have cruise control, 2wd,4.0, straight six, traveling down expressway,,3rd and OD, just went into neutral it seems,,,,rpms revved high,,1st and 2nd fine,,stopped checked fluid, its clean and full,,,,occasionally OD acts like it jumps out for a fraction of a sec, then fine,,,,got jeep when at 97k, now has 107k,,,not sure if fluid and screen been changed or bands been adj,,,,evrything is fine now??? 2 band adj,,,one outsdie trans and one inside oil pan,,,which is for what, Chiltons doesnt say,,,,sorta unclear about adjusting them also,,,diff turns for diff years,,,,only one set of torgue specs,,,,and it references, 94 andup, turn out 2.25 turns then tighned locking nut to spec torque,,,backband inside oil pan, back off screw 4 turns, tighten locknut to spec torque,,doesnt say to tighen adj screw to spec torque specs???
Does anyone have an idea, about this,,,,seems odd,,,that it wold jump out suddendly without slipping,,,unless its close to being out of adj really excessively???
