35s on a Cherokee???
I have seen a lot of guys running them that have about the same amount of lift as I do, or less. I have 6" to 6.5" in the front and 5" to 5.5" in the rear. I run 33s at the moment, but have been thinking about going to 35s when I need to replace. I have trimmed enough to easily clear 33s, how much more would I need to trim to clear 35s? Is it even worth it? I feel like my XJ is very capible with the 33s, so I need some outside input. Keep in mind I am adding some armor, bumpers and a winch and I really don't want to lift it more. I am already running 4.88s, so gearing is good to go!
Here is a photo for refrence.
Thanks guys!!!

You may have to trim a bit more but I wouldnt think so. Your bigger issue is going to be to bumpstop properly. As your rig sits right now bumpstopped properly it could run 35's.

With the bump stops I would lose upward wheel travel. Is that a good thing? I always thought I was building more articulation into my rig to increase its ability! I'm I wrong in thinking this way? Thanks!

It depends on what you are wheeling in...
Where I live we don't need the crazy articulation that rock crawlers need. Our rocks are crushed up and in the parking lots of the parks.
I wheel with 33's on a 3.5" lift... But I love my sawzall and took about 2" or so out of my fronts and up to the pinch seam on the rear.

It will decrease uptravel by a bit but shouldnt hurt your down travel, and now you will have more clearance.

I think you should stay at 33s unless the weight of the additions really lowers your ride height then you would probably still be OK with the 33s but 35s might be a clearance problem. Just have to wait for the additions you propose and see.

Trim it. Bumpstop it. Wheel it! Your tires will tell you where to trim...I'm at 5.5" and wouldn't want to go any higher...See my sig for more pics...Oh yeah, if you think it is capable on 33s, wait until you run 35s!

I say stay on 33's I had a YJ on 33's and put 35's on and I just hated it after that so much that I put 33's right back on. If it works don't fix it...

It kinda looks like your front axle needs to come forward a bit more and then wouldn't have to trim so much. What kind of control arms do you have?

Go for 35's, just bumpstop correctly. If your not gas happy, then youll be fine. I run 36 tsl's with chromo's and im light on the pedel, with no breakage (yet?)..haha
