Default 33" x 15.50 Super swamper TSL/SX tires on 15" rims

Will this combo work with a 4.5" lift? I guess i could cut the fenders and move my flairs up correct?

Here is a picture of the wheels and tires.

Yes with quite a bit of trimming it will work. You will want to regear at some point, but it will work!!

Edit: I did not notice that they are 15.50" wide. That may cause some trouble depending on the width and BS of the wheels. Might want to try to find some 12.50" wide 33s, could be hard getting those not to rub!!

Yeah that's why i was asking. I have not seen anyone running this wide of a tire yet.

Well its a '98, which means you have an HP30 front which is good, and a 29 spline 8.25, that is IF it is an 8.25.

How can you tell for sure if it is the 8.25? I remember seeing a link but don't recall where. They had pictures to show you which rear-end you had.

15.50 wides on stock axles probably not a good idea, even with better backspace you'll still hit your rear inner fender and your coil spring up front on full flex and I 'd say your going to hit your lower contrl arms up front when turning somewhat sharp and after all that it'll eat dana 30 shafts if you wheel it much. Even 4340 chromo shafts yield to 33x13.50 LTB's which in my neck of the woods seems to be max tire a Dana 30 can handle for any length of time. Lot's of people run taller tires but I don't think they wheel hard much.
I run 16 wide boggers on a waggy 44 but shaft reliability boggers do not go hand in hand. I run mega offset bearing killer wheels and the 44 is a little wider than stock axle. I'm still not completely without rub.

Sounds like I should pass these up. I will search for a different style wheel and tire. This is mainly a dd with weekend fun.

Ya I would pass unless you decided you were going to build up your axles. There are other deals out there, you will find them.

The 8.25 has a flat bottom.......sad .

The dana 35 bottom is smooth and oval...just like we like em.

I would pass on those tires too.

Tires are way too wide on the XJs platform and will surely rub unless you have a real small amount of backspacing then you run into trimming problems. I would keep looking. As has been said your rear is probably an 8.25 Cryco unless someone changed it on you. Look at the bottom for a flat area which is what the 8.25 has. If it isn't flat but oval you have a D35 and if it is pretty much round then you are lucky with a D44 rear.
