Post 32x11.5/15 OR 33x12.5/15? Help me decide

So here is the deal, my 88 xj has bushwacker flares, and a 3 inch skyjacker lift. Right now she sits on 32x11.5/15's but they are ready to be replaced. I would like a little extra clearance and my jeep is currently being re-geared to 4:56 to accomodate 33's. Do you think bumping up to a bigger size would be beneficial or not? also keep in mind that if I stick with 32's I will have 4 decent spares and wouldn't have to buy an extra for a spare if i went with 33's.. ?? Any thoughts or observations are awesome! Thanks

33's are the way to go man if you can clear em...you shouldnt have a problem with that set up....also you can still use a 32 as your spare it wont hurt anything....I use a 31 currently.

Your gonna get that extra 1/2 inch of clearence on your diff's, with lockers different size tires are a no no but in a pinch if your lockers are selectableyou could run it off and have a different size spare w/o in issue...remember that some cherokees came with doughnut spares...just dont run a different size tire for very long.

Exactly. a 32x11.50 will get you off the trail just fine!, But i would really advise try Selling the 4 worn out 32s on craigslist.. for chump change, and buy a spare 33.

The difference in height between a 32x11.50 and a 33x12.50 may not be much depending on tire brands. I run 32x9.50 15 on my 1948 CJ2A and They are 32.4 inches tall while I've seen 33s that were only 32.5 inches tall.
Says you are from NW Montana, I lived in Missoula for a while and am a member of the M4X4A.

I may. If Mark ends up going to a larger tire, I'll probably buy his to atleast see how well they fit before I jump into upgrading other things. However, if I find a good deal on some used 33s in the mean time...

I need 33s for the truck too.
