Default 3/4 ton axle swap for '92 xj

I was planning on upgrading stock 35s for 44s but have access to 3/4 ton axles off a '89 Suburban. Is the 3/4 ton axle more difficult to install than Dana 44s?

whats a dana 40?

if you are asking this question you are not ready to install these.

1st you have to make sure its the correct side drop axle
2nd you have to figure out what you are going to do for gears lockers brakes steering hubs.

probably not worth it if you dont know how to weld and it will cost a large chunk of $$

Chevy axles are passenger side drop and a lot of work starting with a new transfer case, rerouting exhaust etc. Plan on a lot of welding and fab plus new driveshafts, wheels and steering. I'm still deciding if the swap was worth it on mine cause since I finished it in January I'm still finding issues.

thanks for the advice. i think i'll leave it as is until the stock axles break and i need to repair them. even then i might just stay with the 35s. they are still great for most of the trailing i like to do.
