2WD To 4WD

Should I Bother Converting My 2001 XJ to 4WD? What Are The Estimated Costs And The Estimated Time It May Take? What Parts Do I Need? Where Can I Get These Parts? Am I Asking Too Many Questions? Is It Worth The While?

only you can determine whether it is worth while or not to convert to 4x4. but here is a run down of what you will need:

4x4 trans
transfer case
4x4 front axle
front (maybe rear) driveshafts
interior 4x4 bezel
shift handle
and 4x4 logo!

and it can be done in a full day if everything goes right AND you have everything you need.

plan on a good weekend to do the swap tho

I am in the process of converting both of mine and have most of what I need for both but I'll tell you the axles are tricky 1. there are so many different kinds 2. gearing becomes an issue and find a axle that matches your rear is hard. Right now with 2 trannys 2 transfer cases I have 400 in the bunch now all I need is a axle to match my 94s and an axle to match my 99s and I am set.
