Help..........daughter has a 2004 Grand Cherokee 6 cyl...94k miles............ failed Massachusetts inspecton due to re apearing check engine light........that keeps , showing new code after code, after part after part replaced...repair facility imbaressed by fact that they cant diagnose, it has been deemed by locol mechanic, maybee PCM computer needs replacement or reflashing by Jeep dealer...........Tuesday they are taking to Jeep dealer for a look see & possible computer issue...she has owned for 2 years never problem before.....................


Heres whats been done ..new gas cap , new vac lines on engine in several locations, new oxygen sensors ,air filter, new engine temp sensors, new plugs & conventional tune up & several other parts that I cant recall..........can dig out paperwork if need be & list all parts that have been replaced so far if need be

Heres symptom starts & runs fine ....but if parked for hour or so, after getting to operating tempiture starts fine but stumbles off idle..........for mile or so then OK. spent 800 bucks so far................

help an old Marine figure this out "Semper Fi" Whats everyone missing in diagnosis ???

Live Ipswich Mass, one problem computer wont reset ..keeps reflecting not ready & one code that keeps apearing is replace oxygen sensor heater &..this has been done also say oxygen sensor #3 NG & there are only 2 on vehickle& have been replaced.............have to go to mother in laws ..mothers day, ( she is nice woman... my wife passed away a few MoNths ago from cancer ) will dig out paprt work when i get home.....

Seems like all bets are off until/unless another PCM is tried-out. Ask your shop about a trial-unit (loaner?) to prove or disprove the PCM first. Happy Mother's Day to your M.I.L., sorry for your loss, and thank you for your USMC service. Chat you later...

Went to Jeep dealer for 2 days to diagnose ......re apearing check engine light & subsequent faliure of inspection sticker............ local mech though computer needed to be reflashed ( sticker on computer indicated reflash done 2008) previous owner...............Jeep put on there computer & said one of the new OX sensors was defective not a Jeep part & to replace..with coreect Jeep o2 sensor............done now runs great have put 80 miles on Jeep have a few errands & then back to ins station to have ( hopefully ) no check engine light & for a re test hope fully tomorrow night will have sticker.................. comment maybe over seas parts truly do suc% ()...........will advise
