2001 xj dana 30
Hello, I have a 2001 xj that I believe someone swapped the dana 30 front axil from a different year/model. I have a wheel bearing/hub that is making noise, so I bought a replacement and installed it without issue, until I tried to put the brake rotor back on the new hub and found it will not fit. The stud pattern is fine and the hub fits the axel and knuckle perfectly, but the inner diameter of the brake rotor hits the flange on the new hub. it seems to be about 1/4 inch to big. I took the rotor to the local Napa and tried to find a bearing to fit my rotor, or a rotor to fit the new hub/bearing but could not. They confirmed that the new hub I purchased is for a 2001 xj, but the stock rotor for an 01 xj is different than what is currently on my jeep. has anyone seen this issue, or may know what make/model the dana 30 may be from that has a smaller hub flange diameter?
Thanks in advance for any help! |

If the front axle is a high-pinion, it definitely got swapped. Here's a good reference for the hubs and rotors which changed mid-year 1999. https://www.jeepforum.com/threads/an...n-hubs.360959/ |
