Default 2001 Jeep cherokee sport exhaust rattle/trouble staying on

The first time I turn my jeep on it starts up fine, second it has a bit of trouble and the third it starts up for a second. I have to press on the gas pedal to keep it running. Recently my dad and I looked at what could possibly have been the problem, no luck. Prior to this I had low oil pressure and when I stopped at a red light or to make a turn, I'd get really low oil pressure and I'd get close to stalling. My whole exhaust system woudl rattle underneath and i'd feel it within the dash and in the steering wheel. Eventually I did stall out. While under the hood the two hoses connecting to the leak detection pump were loose. I reconnected those and changed the sending unit and that fixed it. Now the problem is; having trouble keeping my jeep on. The check engine light is also on. I remember looking up the code that came on the reader and it said something about the fuel regulator? I'm not sure if that could be the reason why. What other possibilities could it be? There are no knocking noises in the engine or anything like that..it just sounds like its going to stall out and eventually it does.
Btw: I have a 2001 Jeep cherokee sport 4.0L 6 cylinder

Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks guys

How would that have anything to do with your oil pressure

It doesn't, i replaced the sending unit which was broken. that fixed the oil pressure problem, but now it's a completely different one

It may be the fuel pressure regulator. They operate by the flexing of a diaphram and those get pinholes in them which will decrease the available fuel pressure each time you start the engine til you reach the point that you do not have enough pressure to allow the injectors to open.
They are easy to replace and relatively cheap. Just be careful to not bend the fueltail as you are taking the old regulator off.

That'd make sense, how much would they cost? I found one on quadratec for $70, http://www.quadratec.com/products/51304_0003.htm besides that, are there any other possibilities that you know of?

Thanks
