first is a plug i found. next is the hose that connects to the thing on the right side of my engine bay

Sorry, I jumped to conclusions. It is an EGR Solenoid. I had to double check my 88 XJ and Chilton's.

sure anything might help ive been lookin online but cant find where the long hose connects it says to vac source but i dont know where i dont think i have any open

The solenoid you took a picture of is on the right hand side of the picture.

Looks like you need a new vac harness... Rock auto has them pretty cheap or NAPA. Harness is ordered as two orders.

That plug in post one; On-top of your intake manifold, rear of the TB is your IAT sensor. I think that goes to the wires from that. (you can also remove and clean your IAT)
