2001 Cherokee MAP Sensor

Anyone have any idea how to diagnose a bad MAP sensor?

I'm having some interesting issues regarding my intake and, well, I think this may be the faulty part... but I'm hard pressed to drop $70-130 on an electrical part that may or may not actually be the culprit.

Feedback much appreciated...

Some MAP sensor problems are not the fault of the sensor itself. If the vacuum hose that connects the MAP sensor to the intake manifold is loose, leaking or plugged, the sensor cannot produce an accurate signal. Also, if there is a problem within the engine itself that causes intake vacuum to be lower than normal (such as a vacuum leak, EGR valve that is stuck open or leaky PCV hose), the MAP sensor's readings may be lower than normal.

ah-HA!

I took the MAP sensor off my truck and tried it on the Jeep (same model sensor) and the problem persists. So the MAP sensor isn't the issue.

I think I have a vacuum leak. It's not at the gasket. There's no possible way. How else would I be able to determine where the leak is (it has to be a pretty big leak, so it ought to be obvious, but I'm having trouble with this one)?
