2000 xj sport overheating after coolant flush
 

so i took lil' blue out out to my mechanic to get some stuff fixed and the coolant flushed. he flushed the crap out of it and then it ran better than before. butt.... now the thing is overheating:brickwall: itll get up to the line just before the end of the temp gauge.... when i stopped and looked under the hood i could hear the coolant gurgling arround, the res. tank was half full then it started filling up and overflowed about a gallon onto the ground..... do yall have any idea why it is doing this?:help:

When the mechanic flushed it, did he install a new T-stat. May have been bad from the store and is stuck shut.

no, same t-stat... i was thinking maybe the fact that the radiator had a lot of what was basicially mud in it that it could have some how messed up the t-stat

That very well could be if he flushed it with the T-stat still in, it is probably plugged with that muddy crap....

I had the same thing happen to my wifes mini van,turned out it had air bubbles in it.when i filled it back up ,ran it, topped it off, checked it when it started having problems it appeared full.a buddy of my came over with a funnel with about a 3 to 4 foot hose on it.stuck that puppy in ,it gergulled.then he had to put about a gallon of anti freeze in due to the size of the air pocket.he said some stuff requires that long hose to put more pressure to force air out.and its been fine since
