2000 XJ sport alternator
 

I need to replace my stock alternator. I'm looking for the cheapest easiest way. If i do have to just replace it, what is a good alternative or should i just buy a new stock replacement?

Get it rebuilt! Check the yellow pages, online and see if you have a re builder locally, if you can't find one call your local city, county vehicle department and ask them who rebuilds theirs.

I called my local alternator shop and it was going to be like 100 bucks to have one broken down and rebuilt. Just go to autozone or a parts store and buy a replacement for 130.. then youll have a lifetime warranty

I think i will buy a new one. Just trying to save a few bucks if i can.
