So i bought my dream vehicle FINALLY after years of trying and failing and biding my time. I wasnt suprised to see some slight issues, being 17 yo now, but once i got it home and really broke into it i was in for a suprise... i started with installing a stereo, previous owner kept theirs. I got everything hooked up and the drivers side speakers dont work. Checked the wires, they look fine besides the main harness has been cut then reconnected. But obviously there is a problem. Iv tried pretty much everything besides running my own wires, since the wires have already been cut i was debating on taking the tape off and just touching the speaker to see if there would just be a short somewhere... and ideas?

There's a rubber boot in between the frame and door where the harness runs through. Famous for having shorts there. Check there after eliminating problems from any work already done. If it were me, I'd run a new wire if you find an intermittent in the original harness.

check the wire in the little rubber boot where the door hinges are. Theyre famous for breaking or corroding apart, mine did it already.

i typed a long and detailed post on how i just pulled 2 new wires in, and lost it while editing! a disaster for a lousy typist like me.
let me know if you are going to try it and ill try to redo my lost work,,,tired.
