2000 Xj 4.0 AW4 transmission issues
Just recently rebuilt the engine 2 weeks ago after shattering 3 pistons, and have been driving with a cracked air intake manifold for at least 3-4 months prior. The idle has been low, but great in drive. Occasionally dies in reverse, and starts 2 out of 3 attempts. Changed the battery, but now my transmission won't shift correctly. Still new to the life of fix and go but today during a good pour down, my jeep started and ran but then I got up to 30mph it would NOT lower RPMs and would not go faster than 35-40mph and at WOT it hit 5-500RPMs and would not shift... Any cheap or easy fix for this? Love the jeep, but my wallet isn't.
