2000 Jeep Cherokee Key Fob Locks, but wont unlock

2000 Jeep Cherokee Key Fob Locks, but wont unlock
Hi all, First post, but have been reading on here for a while.
Problem:
Bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee without any key fobs. Got one off Ebay, took it to locksmith. Locksmith programs, Lock and Panic buttons work, but will not Unlock. Locksmith takes one off shelf (brand new) same thing. Sends me home. Come home, do my research, and find that XJ's have an issue with wires becoming frayed/ripping in the drivers side door. So, I take the kick panel off, and peel back the rubber boot around the wires. Multiple wires were repaired in the past, I check and replace the blue connectors that were loose (thick yellow wire was almost off, Thick Black wire was almost off.) Other wires were a blue with white line, green with white line, and black with red line. Repairs made, Still nothing.
On a positive, my Passenger side window now works from its switch, which it would not in the past.
Jeep Gods, Any advice?
