2 jeeps, one auto, one 5spd
I need a little help if ya"ll don't mind.
I have 2 4.0 1995 jeep cherokee sports.The white one has a new motor,5spd,non working a/c,and a little beat up.The red one is a auto,a/c works,perfect condition inside and out.
My problem is my wife, lol let me finish...She wants the white jeep because it's a five spd.But I want her to have the red one because it's a much nicer jeep.If I take and swap out the trans,computer,linkage,radiator,pedals,etc...will it work?I want to make the 5spd jeep(white)a auto and the auto(red)one a 5spd.Are the harnesses different?

It will work fine, make sure the brackets for the clutch are under the dash,I have checked a few autos and the brackets were ther. You will need to cut a hole in the firewall for the master cylinder.
I have found you can do almost anything with xjs as long as you have all the components for the swap, which you do.
