1999 Jeep Cherokee jerking/lurching at 50 to 55 mph when accelerating
Hi All,
Desperately need help! Just recently my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Limited stalled out while in drive. This used to happen on my 1994 Jeep Cherokee so we new the fix was the crankshaft sensor. We replaced this and also did a tune up, replacing the distributor, rotor, cap, spark plugs, wires, and ignition coil. While adjusting the timing the starter went so we replaced that as well. We seemed to finally get the timing right, the engine is running smooth in idle as well as in drive. BUT, now there is a NEW issue, the Jeep jerks/lurches when accelerating. This happens intermittently when I accelerate from a full stop or between 50-55mph (after letting off the gas and then accelerating). After looking through other threads on the forum we replaced the throttle position sensor, cleaned the MAF, checked for vacuum leaks, checked the fuel pressure and this jerking/lurching problem is still not fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

I suppose I am using the term "adjust" loosely. By that I mean we kept removing the distribtor and turning it clockwise or counterclockwise so it would hit #1 plug without misfire. We checked for bad wires, grounding issues etc. we are baffled....
