1998 Jeep Cherokee OBD question

Hey all,

I recently bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I wanted to know if anyone knew what version of OBD does it have?

I have a bluetooth reader and I would like to use it in this truck. I've used it in all my other cars but they're much newer.

Thanks

Steve.

Not sure of the version.....a '98 is OBD-II. We use a ScanGauge....it just plugs into the ALDL port under the dash.

The '98 XJ uses a JTEC (Jeep/Truck Engine Controller) and a J1962 Data Link Connector. Not sure of the protocol, maybe J1850.

The system has ports to the CCD Data Bus and two pci (J9141K). See schematics below.

The '98 probably doesn't have a SKIM.
